Banjo Burke Memorial Fund is a not-for-profit corporation formed for the following purpose:

To honor the memory of Joe Banjo Burke (October 3, 1946 - December 18, 2003), a well-known traditional musician and hurler from Johnstown, County Kilkenny, Ireland, by:

• supporting scientific research that contributes to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease or helps to define the causes and effects of Parkinson's
• supporting traditional Irish arts and sports
• publishing information related to the above two causes
• raising funds for the above purposes
