Who is eligible?
 

Any musician aged 12-18 who is recommended by a recognized teacher or mentor as possessing such extraordinary musical ability and maturity as to make them qualified to take advanced adult classes at the Catskills Irish Arts Week, and who later achieves first place in a qualifying Fleadh competition, and plans to attend the All-Ireland Fleadh, and obtains acceptance into adult classes  from the Catskills Irish Arts Week .



Who will get the award?
  Awards will be distributed based on the order in which the recommendation letters are received.  The number of awards will be determined annually.  Letters may be submitted any time after January 1 each year.  In order to receive the award, the student must later achieve all of the requirements listed above, and must be accompanied at the Arts Week by a parent or legal guardian, who will retain full responsibility for the student.

What is included?
  The award includes full tuition, food and lodging for the week, and a ticket to the Andy McGann Festival on Saturday, for the recipient only.  The accompanying adult's expenses are not included.

What must be included in the recommendation?
  The recommendation should include a paragraph introducing the teacher and describing the teacher's qualifications; and a paragraph describing the student, including name, age, instrument, desired class at the Arts Week, a description of the student's ability, and evidence of exceptional maturity.
