Old-Time Ceili Dances

Teacher  Pat Kane

If you have always been an on-looker at ceili dances, or know nothing about ceili, or have tried it, but still feel unsure of the steps, these are the workshops for you.  Even if you have two left feet and never dance, don't worry.  You will be in good company with others who feel the same.  Pat is very experienced at teaching groups with mixed ability levels.  He will be able to pull in beginners while still challenging those with more experience.

Pat Kane has been dancing ceili since the 1970's and has been teaching it at parties and festivals and as an artist in residence at schools in the Twin Tiers of western New York and Pennsylvania for many years.

Dances such as the Haymakers' Jig, The Sweets of May,  The Walls of Limerick, The Seige of Ennis and more.

Workshop Schedule:

          Saturday October 10 10:00 - 11:30  Shamrock House

Sunday October 11    10:30 - noon   Shamrock House

Ron Bruschi and Marie Newman will teach set dances, including pointers on foot work.
