We have two very different purposes, so you can say how you want your money to be spent. We have three different accounts: the General Fund, the Parkinson's Research Fund, and the Traditional Arts Fund. Money can be moved from the General Fund to either of the other two funds to pay for programs as needed, but it can never be pulled back out into the General Fund. All salaries, government fees, and general operating expenses are paid from the General Fund.
If you want your donation to be spent for Parkinson's research, jot it in the memo portion of your check and check the Parkinson's blank on your donor form. It will be deposited directly into the Parkinson's Research Fund and will help to fund one of our studies.
If you want your donation to support Irish Traditional Arts and Sports, jot it in the memo portion of your check and check the Irish Arts blank on your donor form. It will be deposited directly into the Irish Traditional Arts Fund and will help give a scholarship or sponsor a traditional concert, ceili, festival, or sporting event.
Any donations that don't specify will be deposited into the General Fund. We hope that many of you realize what it costs to run a charitable organization. Given our strict rules for following the wishes of our donors, our continued existence depends on the donations to the General Fund.
