Parkinson's Disease Research Our purpose is to support scientific research that contributes to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease or helps define the causes and effects of Parkinson's. Within that purpose, our first overall goals are to elucidate any role(s) that viruses may play in the development of Parkinson's disease and to define any relationship(s) of other disease states to the development of Parkinson's Disease.  If you are an investigator with interests in this field, please complete our Investigator survey. Our immediate goal is to find evidence to prove or disprove any or all aspects of our first Theoretical Construct.   Theoretical Construct

Irish Traditional Arts Our purpose is to support traditional Irish arts and sports. Within this purpose, the first overall goal is to encourage aspiring Irish traditional musicians to reach their full potential. The first immediate goal in support of this objective is to offer scholarships to the Catskill Mountains Irish Traditional Arts Week  held each July in East Durham, New York.  The dates this year will be July 11-17, 2010.  Each scholarship includes full tuition, lodging, and food allowance for the week.  For details, see Banjo Burke Memorial Scholarship .  The second program is the musical talent-quality instrument clearinghouse .  This program gives talented aspiring musicians instruments that can be played well. Thirdly, we sponsor and produce the Banjo Burke Festival  annually on Columbus Weekend in East Durham, NY.  This year's festival dates are October 8-11, 2010.
